England need four wickets while Australia require 137 runs on the final day of the first Ashes Test match at Trent Bridge.

Brad Haddin and Ashton Agar are the overnight batsmen. For England, Graeme Swann was the pick of the bowlers since he got a lot of purchase from the day four track. He dismissed Steven Smith and Phil Hughes — both leg before.

Stuart Broad picked up Shane Watson and Michael Clarke with the balls that swung just a tad late on both occasions.

Australia started off on a promising note with Watson and Chris Rogers putting up 84 for the first wicket. But after Watson’s wicket Australia lost the plot and regular strikes kept pegging them back.

Rogers top-scored with 52.

Brief scores:

England 215 and 375 (Kevin Pietersen 64, Ian Bell 109, Stuart Broad 65; Mitchell Starc 3 for 81, Peter Siddle 3 for 85) lead Australia 280 and 174 for 6 (Shane Watson 46, Chris Rogers 52; Stuart Broad 2 for 34, Graeme Swann 2 for 64) by 136 runs.
