Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Friday became the third Indian to take a five-wicket haul and score a century in the same Test match.

Vinoo Mankad and Polly Umrigar were the only other two Indian cricketers to have achieved this feat in the past.

Mankad had scored 184 runs and grabbed 5/196 against England at Lord s in 1952, while Umrigar achieved the feat in 1962 against the West Indies when he took a 5/107 and scored an unbeaten 172.

Ashwin scored his maiden Test century as India were all out for 482 at tea on the fourth day of the third cricket Test against West Indies at Wankhede Stadium.

The off spinner hit 15 fours and two sixes in his innings of 103 off 118 balls to go with his 5/146 in the first innings.

Ian Botham has achieved this feat the most with five times, while Gary Sobers and Mushtaq Mohammad have done it twice.
