Spectacular efforts of half-centurial knocks by Aamir Kaleem and Hammad Mirza went unsuccessful as India beat Oman by 21 runs in the final match of the group stage clash of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Coming to bat first, Indian lineup was a show of shocking changes in numbers, with players coming up at unexpected moments. Sanju Samson’s fifty was a major part of India’s total of 188 runs, along with contributions from Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma and Axar Patel.

Oman came out to chase a score of 189, where Aamir Kaleem and Hammad Mirza turned out as a highest run-scorers respectively, along with captain Jatinder Singh making significant contributions. However, all their efforts were not enough as they eventually failed to successfully chase their target.

The match ended with Oman completing their quota of 20 overs with 167 runs on the board- losing the match by 21 runs.
