Chinese women cricket team drubbed Japan women team by seven wickets to enter the semi-finals of the Asian Games Women’s Cricket Competition.

Batting first, Japan women only managed to score 71 runs in the allotted 20 overs losing seven wickets in the process. Chihiro Sakamoto was the highest scorer as she remained unbeaten on 25. For China women, Wu Juan bowled a great spell. She picked up three wickets and only gave away 11 runs.

In reply, China women reached the target in 18.3 overs. Zhang Mei top scored for the team with 23 runs. Ayako Nakayama displayed the best bowling performance for Japan giving away only 10 runs and picking one wicket.

Japan 71 for 7 in 20 overs (Chihiro Sakamoto 25*; Wu Juan 3 for 11) lost to China 72 for 3 in 18.4 overs (Zhang Mei 23; Ayako Nakayama 1 for 10) by 7 wickets.
