A total of 14 wickets fell as Assam bowled out Tripura for 135 before being reduced to 68 for four on day one of their opening Group C Ranji Trophy match here today. At stumps, hosts Assam trailed the visitors by 67 runs with six wickets remaining in the 1st innings at the Nehru Stadium.

Manisankar Murasingh top-scored for Tripura with 47, while Sibsankar Roy (three wickets for six runs) and Krishna Das (three for 41) were Assam’s most successful bowlers. Only four batsmen managed to score in double figures for Tripura.

Assam in reply faced an early batting collapse as well, getting reduced to losing their fourth wicket with 35 runs on the board. Abhijit Sarkar was the chief destroyer of the top-order, taking two wickets.
