A four-wicket haul by T Atchut Rao helped Andhra defeat Tripura by 124 runs on the last day of the Ranji Trophy Plate division Group A tie on Sunday.

 

Chasing a target of 333, Tripura, struggling at an overnight score of 24 for five, were bowled out for 208 in 54.2 overs in their second innings.

 

Atchut Rao and K S Sahabuddin, who claimed three wickets, broke the back of the Tripura’s innings by taking wickets at regular intervals and help their team secure five points.

 

G V S Prasad took two wickets.

 

Tailenders Udit Patel (59), Manishankar Morasingh (52) and Vinayak Samant (42) were the only ones to offer some resistance and help the team reach a respectable score. (PTI)
