Australia secured a convincing 133-run win over the West Indies on Day 4 at Queen’s Park Oval, sealing the series in style. With this victory, they took a 2-0 lead in the series to retain the Frank Worrell Trophy. The visitors bowled out the hosts for just 143 in their second innings, finishing the game with a day to spare.

After a disappointing start in the second innigs at 28/3, half-centuries from Steve Smith and Cameron Green helped Australia regain control. Resuming at 221/7 on Day 4, Australia managed to reach 243, setting West Indies a target of 277. Although the lower order offered some resistance, Shamar Joseph’s impressive 4/66 kept the Caribbean side in the contest for a brief period.

West Indies batting collapsed to 33/4 under constant pressure from the Australian bowlers. Mitchell Starc spearheaded the attack with figures of 3/24, while Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon chipped in with crucial wickets. The innings was wrapped up for just 143 in only 34.3 overs during the afternoon session.

Roston Chase was the top scorer for the West Indies with 34 runs before falling lbw to Mitchell Starc. Shamar Joseph chipped in with a quick 24-run cameo but was eventually caught off Nathan Lyon’s bowling.

Wicketkeeper Alex Carey was named Player of the Match for his impactful performance scoring 63 in the first innings, 30 in the second, and taking four catches. His calm presence behind the stumps and crucial contributions with the bat played a key role in stabilizing Australia’s effort.
