Australia will be looking for a three nil victory in the upcoming One-day International (ODI) series against Pakistan in United Arab Emirates (UAE) which will put them back in the number one position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI rankings. If George Bailey’s side can claim a 3-0 result in the series, starting from Tuesday in Sharjah, they can leap from fourth to first on the ODI rankings.

Though their progress will depend on the results of India‘s five match ODI series against the West Indies. If the Caribbean side can managed to win at least two matches in their five-game series and Australia make clean sweep against Pakistan than the Aussies will be at the top of the rankings. Even if the Windies win one of the opening two matches and Australia complete a series sweep, Bailey’s team will be top in a week’s time.

A 3-0 win to Australia and a 4-1 result for India would put India (114) ahead of Australia (114) at the top of the table by a fraction of a point. Whereas MS Dhoni’s India side can jump clear on 116 points with a 5-0 win.
