Mohammad Nabi was dismissed off the bowling of Glenn Maxwell for a score of two off 10 balls as Afghanistan lost their sixth wicket with 103 on board in the 25th over during their ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Pool A match against Australia at the WACA Ground in Perth on Wednesday. The dismissal was the latest in a series of jolts to the Afghan side, who were looking steady at 94 for three at one point. Nawroz Mangal and Samiullah Shenwari had earlier added 48 runs for the fourth wicket, with Mangal getting a smashing two fours and as many sixes along with way to rescue their side from a precarious score of 46 for three. The breakthrough finally came after the resumption of the innings following the drinks break. Shenwari was the first to depart, getting caught by Mitchell Johnson off the bowling of Michael Clarke, for a score of 17. Mangal did not waste much time in joining him back to the pavilion, edging the first ball of the following over by Johnson to the slips, where Finch took a brilliant catch, to dismiss the batsman for a score of 33 off 35 balls. Australia earlier finished on a score of 417 for the loss of six wickets, which is currently the highest team total in a World Cup match as well as on Australian soil. Warner’s knock turned out to be the highest individual score at the venue, surpassing the previous record of 343 for five held by the same team against New Zealand in 2007.
