Glenn Maxwell has missed out on his maiden One-Day International (ODI) century during the tri-series final between Australia and England at the WACA, Perth. Maxwell walked in when Australia had lost three early wickets and has batted extremely well to go on to make 95 and also help Australia recover in this game.

Maxwell has had to curb his natural instincts as wickets had fallen. As a result, he has spent more time in the middle. With his eye in, he has played inventive shots as well, the reverse-sweep off the fast bowler for a four. Maxwell is continuing to build on his reputation and here he has vindicated his quality by scripting this crucial knock. Mitchell March has supported him well as Australia have crossed 200.

Earlier, England had won the toss and chose to bowl first. One would say it is after their performance against India in the previous game on the same surface where they had bowled India out for only 200. For this game, England retained their team. Australia were strengthened by the addition of Mitchell Johnson.
