Stuart Broad has picked up four wickets to help England reduce Australia to 110 for five after 38 overs on Day One of the first Ashes 2013-14 Test in Brisbane at the Gabba.

Broad had already taken the wickets of Chris Rogers (1) and Shane Watson (22) before lunch. But soon after the break, Broad struck twice. First it was Michael Clarke (1) who spooned a catch to Ian Bell at forward short-leg off a short ball.

Then David Warner (49) hit a half-hearted shot to extra-cover where Kevin Pietersen made no mistake. James Anderson joined in as he found the edge of debutant George Bailey’s bat and Alastair Cook took the catch at first slip.

Steven Smith is batting on 19 and Brad Haddin is batting on seven.
