It is now being confirmed that Josh Hazlewood will miss the Brisbane ODI due to illness. He will fly back home to Sydney and get treated for a virus.

Hazlewood s place in the side is likely to be given to Jhye Richardson. Richardson made his international debut for Australia last year in a T20I against Sri Lanka. He has been preferred over Pat Cummins, who featured all five Tests of The Ashes 2017-18. Richardson has so far played eight List-A games for Western Australia and is currently playing the BCL 2017-18 with Perth Scorchers.

With Hazlewood not in the picture, Mithcell Starc remains the only front-line bowler to feature from their Ashes line-up. Tim Paine, who missed the training session after a run-in with gastroenteritis has been declared fit to play.

Australia will look to bounce back in the 5-ODI series and level series by winning at Gabba.
