Australia were reeling at 33 for three after 11 overs as Shane Watson was the third man to be dismissed, out leg-before off Farhan Behardien in their second One-Day International (ODI) against South Africa at the WACA in Perth on Sunday. Watson was dismissed after he scored 11 runs off 26 balls with the help of a four.

Australia suffered early blows when they lost their openers David Warner and Aaron Finch for cheap. In the first over, the hosts suffered a huge blow when they lost their opener David Warner in the first over. Warner was removed by Morne Morkel, who had the batsman caught behind the wickets for naught on the fifth delivery of the first over.

In the fifth over, Dale Steyn had the final laugh when he removed Aaron Finch for eight, after the right-handed batsman hit him for a six.

South Africa would be delighted with these breakthroughs as Warner’s partnership for the first wicket with Aaron Finch had put the hosts in a commanding position in the first game.

Earlier in the day, Australia captain George Bailey won the toss and elected to bat first. Steven Smith was included in place of the injured Michael Clarke and South Africa drafted in Rilee Rossouw in place of Ryan McLaren.

Australia lead the five-match ODI series 1-0 as they won the first clash of the series as the same venue by 32 runs.
