Steven Smith scored his third One-Day international (ODI) fifty as Australia continue to fight on in chase of 268 against South Africa in the fourth ODI at Melbourne on Friday. Smith continued from where he left off at Canberra. Unlike the sparkling 73 he scored previously, this was a more cautious innings.  Australia are 135 for five in 32 overs.

The Aussies lost wickets at regular intervals and were down to 98 for five. when Smith and Matthew Wade came together.

Earlier, South Africa posted a total of 267 for right courtesy a 122-run fourth-wicket partnership between AB de Villiers (91) and David Miller (45). Nathan Coulter-Nile has been ruled out of the match after he picked a hamstring injury early in the innings after dismissing Hashim Amla.
