South Africa have called up Dwaine Pretorius as the replacement for Dale Steyn for the remainder of the Test series against Australia. Steyn fractured his shoulder during the first Test against Australia at Perth. Steyn is tipped to be out of action for the next six months, which casts doubts over the 33-year-old s international career. Pretorius is yet to make his Test debut, by the has played three One-Day Internationals (ODI), having made his debut recently against Ireland. Pretorius, an all-rounder has scored 1,963 runs at 43.62 and also has 115 wickets in 36 First-Class games for Lions in his career so far. In the ongoing Sunfoil series, Pretorius has scores of 87, 80, 96, 28 and 72, according to espncricinfo.com. He also picked up a six-wicket haul against Warriors recently. In his three ODIs he has taken a couple of wickets and managed to score just 15 runs in his only innings. South Africa won the first Test at Perth by 177 runs to go 1-0 up in the three-match series. South Africa had to bowl the entire of second innings with one bowler short as Steyn had injured himself in Australia s first innings. Kagiso Rabada was adjudged the man of the match for his brilliant five-wicket haul in the second innings to go with his two wicket in the first. With Morne Morkel and Kyle Abbott already in the side, it is likely one of them will play the second Test at Hobart in Steyn s place, beginning from November 12.

South Africa will look to wrap up the series with one game to go in the Hobart Test.
