Mitchell Starc has followed Mitchell Johnson as the second Australian left-arm fast bowler to the milestone of 200 Test wickets, getting there during the second session of the day-night Test versus Sri Lanka at the Gabba.

Having been denied the milestone early in the day after Sri Lankan opener Lahiru Thirimanne successfully reviewed an lbw decision, Starc claimed Suranga Lakmal to get his 200th wicket. (ALSO READ: Australian quicks leave Sri Lanka 122/8 at tea on day one)

This put the 30-year-old at second place for left-armers after the retired Johnson, who is Australia’s fifth most successful bowler in Test cricket with 313 wickets. Starc got there in his 50th Test, which is equal tenth-fastest for Australia.

He is the 17th Australian bowler to 200 Test wickets.
