Australian umpire Steve Davis would achieve a milestone when he stands in his 100th one-day international when he takes charge of the India-Netherlands World Cup Group B match at Delhi on Wednesday, stated an ICC media release.

Davis, who is part of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires, made his international debut on December 12, 1992 in a match between Pakistan and West Indies in Adelaide and last year was shortlisted for LG ICC Umpire of the Year 2010.

The 58-year-old has also stood in 31 Tests and 14 Twenty20 internationals so far.

Understandably, Davis is elated at reaching the milestone during a World Cup match. “I am extremely proud and honoured to have reached this milestone. I can t quite believe that I am already at that landmark figure and it s fantastic to be reaching it at an ICC Cricket World Cup.”
