Former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood intends to wear ‘Save Gaza’ and ‘Free Palestine’ wristbands during Surrey’s Twenty20 quarter-final match against Moeen Ali’s county team Worcestershire on Saturday.

Ali might also play in the match, if England allows him to participate and not rest him before the fourth Test at Manchester

“If I was in Moeen’s case I wouldn’t mind getting fined if people realise what’s going on and one life is saved,” Azhar was quoted as saying by The Telegraph.

“All we can do is make people aware of the situation. I can wear the bands. I’m playing in the quarter final and if I can find one please stop killing innocent people around the world. If I can find that band I can wear it in Saturday’s quarter final.”

“We have always worn wristbands or ribbons when showing support  for an incident or raising awareness, we do it for animal rights too, why not humans (sic),” wrote Azhar on Twitter.
