Where Smith was expected to leave Cape Town on Monday morning, <i>cricket.com.au</i> understands that Smith is still with his team. <a href="https://www.cricketcountry.com/tag/cricket-australia" target="_blank">Cricket Australia</a> will be beginning their internal investigation from Monday. In the process CA also confirmed, none of the touring party had left Cape Town. <p></p> <p></p>CA s statement read: Cricket Australia can confirm that all members of the touring Test squad currently remain in South Africa. Multiple media reports that suggest players have departed South Africa for home ports are inaccurate. At this stage, players will remain in South Africa to assist CA with inquiries. Any outcomes from that process will be communicated in due course. <p></p> <p></p>Smith and his deputy David Warner stood down as captain and vice-captain respectively on Sunday, mid-way through the third Test. Tim Paine was appointed stand-in captain. <p></p> <p></p>In the coming days, Smith and co. would be questioned by CA Head of Integrity Iain Roy, the person responsible with leading the investigation.
