Comilla Victorians’ star batsman Steve Smith has been ruled out for the next two matches of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is what is a huge blow to the franchise.

According to a report in Cricbuzz on Thursday, Smith, in the last leg of serving his suspension, has left for Australia for an MRI to check an injury to his elbow. Smith, who has scored 16 and 0 and has bowled one over, in the two games he played so far, looks to be suffering from golfer’s elbow and may join the squad if there is no major damage. “We are hoping that he will join us if nothing serious is found in the MRI,” coach Mohammad Salahuddin was quoted as saying in the report.

Meanwhile, Comilla Victorians have lost one game in the tournament and are placed fifth in the table. They next face Rajshahi Kings on January 11.
