Bangladesh selectors announced one change to the 14-man squad who wil be taking on England for the series finale at Chittagong on Wednesday. Taijul Islam, the 24-year-old left-arm spinner, is a like-for-like replacement for Mosharraf Hossain with the series tied at 1-1. Taijul, who has played nine Tests and four One-Day Internationals (ODIs) last featured in the second of the three-ODI against Afghanistan in Mirpur. Bangladesh had won the series against Afghanistan and will like to add one more series victory to their kitty against Jos Buttler’s side. According to Cricbuzz, based on his performance in the ODI series against Afghanistan, Mosharraf was selected in the Bangladesh squad for the first two ODIs against England but his wick led to his ouster from the side. Taijul created record when he became the only fourth bowler in history to register a hat-trick on debut versus Zimbabwe. Taijul also became the first bowler in ODIs to achieve this feat. Taijul will be expected to fire on all cylinders if he gets a chance for the third ODI.

The three-ODI series is evenly poised at 1-1. The two teams will face off in the series decided on Wednesday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong. The two-Test series that follows the ODIs will begin at the same venue from October 20 while the final Test will be held in Mirpur from October 28. Bangladesh will like to win their seventh bilateral series at home after defeating teams like Zimbabwe (twice), India, South Africa, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Bangladesh were cruising in the first ODI against England chasing 310 but lost by 21 runs. However, Bangladesh came back strong in the second ODI defending a modest score of 239 and won by 34 runs. The series finale is expected to be a cracker of a contest between both sides.
