New Zealand finished the powerplay overs at 39-1. Henry Nichols was the only wicket to fall, as he was bowled by Mustafizur Rahman for 7 in the final ball of the 4th over. Mustafizur decieved Nichols with a slower ball, and clean bowled the batsman. Nichols departed with New Zealand at 25 after 4 overs. New Zealand started of their innings nicely, scoring 23 runs of their first 3 overs. Kane Williamson was looking very fluent, and Nichols, in for Martin Guptill was giving the skipper a good hand. Mustafizur bowled four slower balls earlier in the over, before deceiving Nichols and taking his wicket. Munro and Williamson will need to form a solid partnership, considering both are lacking runs in T20 World Cup 2016. They will be followed by Corey Anderson and Ross Taylor. New Zealand will look to go into the semi finals on a winning run, whereas Bangladesh will look to take some positive out of this tournament.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. They made 2 changes for the day, with Nichols coming in for Martin Guptill and Nathan McCullum coming in for Adam Milne. Bangladesh were unchanged for the game. The Kiwis had already qualified for the semi’s, with Bangladesh already out of the tournament after losing all their 3 previous games. New Zealand won their last game against Pakistan, whereas Bangladesh lost their last game by 1 run against India, in shocking circumstances.
