Playing against PNG, Bangladesh Women had put up 215 for 6 batting first. Sharmin Akhter and Fargana Hoque scored individual half-centuries. Chasing the target, PNG were bundled for 97 within 33 overs. While skipper Rumana Ahmed was the most economical among the Bangladesh bowlers, taking 2 wickets, Jahanara Alam, Panna Ghosh and Salma Khatun also bagged a couple of wickets each in order to contribute to the victory. Bangladesh s 118-run victory will be a huge mental boost before the high-intensity match against Pakistan on Wednesday. They will look to continue with their all-round performance and lead the table.

Pakistan, on the other hand, faced South Africa Women, who had put up 258 for 9 batting first. Chloe Tryon s 79 was the biggest contribution in making the score a challenging one. Chasing the target, despite Nain Abidi s 62-run knock, Pakistan could put up only 195 runs for the loss of 6 wickets after their 50 overs. Pakistan s much-appraised bowling failed to put any impact on South Africa s batting as the batting line-up also failed to make up for it. Pakistan will look to shrug off the defeat and come back strong against Bangladesh to snatch their first points.
