Bangladesh and South Africa face off on the fifth day of the second and final Test at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka on Monday. The series between the two is currently level at 0-0, after the first Test at Chittagong turned out to be a draw. Bangladesh reached a score of 246 for the loss of eight wickets on the opening day, with Nasir Hossain batting on 13. No a single ball was bowled for the next three days however, with the scheduled days coinciding with the heavy monsoon downpour. The highlight of the Test so far has been Dale Steyn’s 400th Test wicket, which occurred on the first day of the match. A draw will see Bangladesh gain five points and South Africa lose six, one that could see a shift in the ICC Test rankings. UPDATES: Bangladesh vs South Africa, 2nd Test at Dhaka, Day 5

Bangladesh won the toss at the start of the match and elected to bat. Nasir joined the playing eleven in place of Taijul Islam. In the South African camp, Quinton de Kock was dropped due to a decline in form, allowing Dane Vilas to make his Test debut. Bangladesh lost the wicket of Tamim Iqbal with just 12 runs on board, edging a Steyn delivery to Hashim Amla in the slips to allow the pacer to complete his milestone. Bangladesh were strengthened by knocks by skipper Mushfiqur Rahim (65), Mominul Haque (40), etc. In the end, South Africa managed to restrict them thanks to some disciplined bowling by JP Duminy (3 for 27) and Steyn (3 for 30).
