Ajantha Mendis gave the first breakthrough dismissing Shamsur Rahman for 39  in the last league match of the Asia Cup 2014 at Mirpur on Thursday. Bangladesh are 74 for one loss in 18.2 overs.

Anamul looked adept against the spinners playing the cut shot and in the ‘v’ with perfection. In the 16th overs, Anamul; came down the track and slapped it over long-on for a six off Chaturanga de Silva’s bowling. Shamsur was been the more aggressor of the two.

Ajantha Mendis came to bowl in the 15th over but had no effect on the openers. Anamul is the batsman in form and had scored a century in the previous match against Pakistan.

Chaturanga had beaten Anamul on occasion but the ball passed through the keepers legs for a boundary. Mendis eventually gets a delivery to strike low on Rahman’s pads. Umpire Oxenford raises his finger.
