Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 2014, 1st ODI at Chittagong: Regis Chakabva dismissed for nine; Zim 124/4

Zimbabwe lost their fourth wicket in the first One-Day International (ODI) against Bangladesh in Chittagong when wicket-keeper batsman Regis Chakabva was dismissed off the bowling of Mahmudullah with the tourists putting up 124 runs in the 25th over.

Bangladesh had earlier posted a score of 281 for seven at the end of their quota of 50 overs, after they were put to bat by the Zimbabweans. Sabbir Rahman and Arafat Sunny were unbeaten on scores of 44 and one respectively. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim top-scored for Bangladesh with scores of 101 and 65 respectively, while Tinashe Panyangara was the pick among the Zimbabwean bowlers with figures of  three for 66. Tendai Chatara  was the destructor-in-chief during the early part of the Bangladeshi innings, and ended with figures of two for 48.

Bangladesh decided top award legspinner his maiden ODI cap and medium-pacer Al-Amin Hossain made his way back in to the side after getting his action cleared by International Cricket Council (ICC). Zimbabwe, on the other hand, decided to field debutant Solomon Mire. Both teams have a captain different from the Test one, with Mashrafe Mortaza and Elton Chigumbura taking over the reigns from Mushfiqur Rahim and Brendan Taylor for Bangladesh and Zimbabwe respectively.
