Shakib Al Hasan brought up his 27th One-Day International (ODI) fifty during the first game of the five-match ODI series between Bangladesh and  Zimbabwe at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Friday to guide his side to a score of 126 for the loss of four wickets after 30.3 overs. Shakib hit four boundaries during the knock. Wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim was batting on 18 on the other end.

Zimbabwe had earlier won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangladesh decided top award legspinner his maiden ODI cap and medium-pacer Al-Amin Hossain made his way back in to the side after getting his action cleared by International Cricket Council (ICC). Zimbabwe, on the other hand, decided to field debutant Solomon Mire. Both teams have a captain different from the Test one, with Mashrafe Mortaza and Elton Chigumbura taking over the reigns from Mushfiqur Rahim and Brendan Taylor for Bangladesh and Zimbabwe respectively.
