Bangladesh allrounder Shakib Al Hasan brought up his sixth One-Day International (ODI) hundred in the first game of the five-match ODI series against Zimbabwe at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Friday. Shakib hit ten fours during his 95-ball stay at the crease. Mushfiqur Rahim was unbeaten on 52 on the other end, with the hosts reaching a score of 214 for the loss of four wickets after 42.1 overs. The partnership between the two is now worth 144 runs, and the Bangladeshis look poised to comfortably reach a total in excess of 250, if things go the way they are going.

Zimbabwe had earlier won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangladesh decided top award legspinner his maiden ODI cap and medium-pacer Al-Amin Hossain made his way back in to the side after getting his action cleared by International Cricket Council (ICC). Zimbabwe, on the other hand, decided to field debutant Solomon Mire. Both teams have a captain different from the Test one, with Mashrafe Mortaza and Elton Chigumbura taking over the reigns from Mushfiqur Rahim and Brendan Taylor for Bangladesh and Zimbabwe respectively.
