Barisal Bulls posted a challenging total of 161 for the loss of four wickets in the 36th encounter of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2016 against Rajshahi Kings. Shahriar Nafees played well in the end and garnered some quick runs to help his side cross the 160-run mark. Rajshahi Kings won the toss and elected to field first. Bulls got off to a rocky start as Jeevan Mendis was dismissed for 6. Young prodigy Mehedi Hasan once again got the early breakthrough for his side. Dawid Malan, Fazle Mahmud then weathered the early storm and sailed the Bulls ship from choppy waters with confidence. They stitched a much-needed partnership of 100 runs between them, as Malan got to his fifty while Mahmud fell seven runs short from achieving the landmark. Points table and team standings

Malan garnered runs at a brisk rate as his 56-run knock contained six boundaries and three maximums whereas Mahmud had four boundaries and couple of sixes to his name. They built a solid platform for the middle-order to capitalise. Malan was unlucky to have been run out, which was immediately followed by Mahmud s dismissal in the same over. Mushfiqur Rahim, Thisara Perera were new at the crease and had the responsibility of getting the job done. Pererea played well but Rahim was dismissed for eight by Mohammad Sami.

For Rajshahi, Maruf was a tad expensive and had a wicket to his name while Sami was economical with the ball as he finished with figures of four for 16. Reza too did a good job as he picked a wicket and was economical till his last over, where he went for runs. Rajshahi Kings have a tricky target ahead of them.
