The offence occurred during the Sixers innings, when following an appeal for LBW, Curran showed excessive, obvious disappointment with an umpires’ decision of not out.

Match Referee Bob Parry considered the umpires’ report, and proposed a sanction of a $2,500 fine.

Curran admitted to the offence but disputed the proposed sanction at a disciplinary hearing.

At the hearing the Match Referee revised the sanction with Curran receiving an official reprimand.
