According to reports, Bangladesh are eyeing Bangalore or Kolkata as replacement owing to cut down on travelling since they will head to West Indies for a full series later. BCCI's reply is awaited.

Crux of the matter

"We told them (BCCI) to reconsider the venue location so that it is convenient for our players. As we will tour West Indies for a full tour after the Afghanistan series It would be better for players if the venue is convenient for travelling.

Dehradun is fine but we are looking for a convenient venue and it would be better if the series can be held in Kolkata or Bangalore. Obviously, we are in talks and I am sure BCCI will help us in this matter," stated BCB president Nazmul Hasan.

Afghanistan were earlier scheduled to host the three-match ODI series versus Bangladesh in UAE. However, when that did it materialise, they resorted to BCCI for a venue in India. BCCI have earlier granted Afghanistan a venue in Greater Noida wherein they hosted Ireland in March 2017.
