BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya to skip IPL meeting on Sunday

BCCI Chief Jagmohan Dalmiya met  the former Indian cricket board Chief Shashank Manohar for discussing the  repercussions of the CSK and RR ban.

The president of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Jagmohan Dalmiya had opted to skip the crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) meeting, where the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) suspension will be discussed and also the plan of action for the upcoming ICC World T20 2016 on Sunday. There has been news regarding the BCCI officials may request the 75-year old administrator to step down from the position, for the smooth running of the board. Earlier, there were reports about Dalmiya meeting the former Indian cricket board Chief Shashank Manohar for discussing the repercussions of the CSK and RR ban. “He called me. That’s why I have come. I don’t know whatever he wants to discuss, whatever opinion he wants. I’ll give him,” Manohar said.

Since Dalmiya is not keeping well, his son Abhishek has looking after the BCCI’s day-to-day affairs. BCCI rules say the term of the President is three years, and fresh elections can take place only if the current head steps down.

The two teams were suspended for two years were on Tuesday from the league for two years by the Supreme Court-appointed Justice Lodha Committee in the spot fixing and betting scandal that rocked the cash-rich Twenty20 tournament in 2013.
