The Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI ) officials are most likely to decide on their new support staff when the working committee meets on September 26 in Chennai. There is also a meeting schduled for September 23. BCCI has a lot of puzzles to solve before West Indies knock on the door next month.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, a few top BCCI officials are likely to meet Ravi Shastri in a couple of days and get his views on the support staff. The BCCI want Shastri to continue as the team director until the ICC World Cup 2014 following India’s recent success against England under his guidance.
Duncan Fletcher is also likely to continue until the World Cup after which his contract will expire. The BCCI has to take a decision on the future of Sanjay Bangar, R Sreedhar, and B Arun, who were appointed after the dismal show in the Test series against England. If they are retained, then the BCCI would have to decide on the fates of Trevor Penney and Joe Dawes.
