BCCI president N Srinivasan will not resign from his post over his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan‘s alleged role in betting, sources told NDTV.

Srinivasan will wait for the results of the investigation to come out before taking a further move. The BCCI chief will be attending the second Qualifier and final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Kolkata.

Meiyappan, who is the team principal and CEO of Srinivasan’s franchise Chennai Super Kings, has been summoned by the Mumbai Police for questioning today. Small-time actor Vindoo Dara Singh is said to have claimed that Meiyappan heavily betted during this season and lost close to a crore of rupees. Meiyappan’s name, however, has not been linked to spot-fixing yet.

Meanwhile, Srinivasan is said to have denied having any knowledge of Meiyappan’s involvement in betting.

Chennai Super Kings sources however told NDTV that Meiyappan has no formal designation in the team and that he knew Vindoo through his Bollywood links. Meiyappan belongs to the AVM family, which owns one of the oldest studios and production business in south India.
