The Indian cricket board has requested New Zealand Cricket (NZC) to organise a short tour which is scheduled next year in the month of February-march, according to reports.

India are scheduled to play three Tests, five One-Day Internationals and one Twenty20 International, however, BCCI wants it to be trimmed to two matches each in all the three formats.

“Nothing’s been decided. We are working through the details but I think [the schedule] could be done within the next couple of weeks,” David White, New Zealand Cricket chief, was quoted as saying by the New Zealand Herald.

This is a result of India’s participation in the Asia Cup 2014 which is scheduled from February 24 to March 8 in Bangladesh, which clashes with India’s tour of New Zealand.

Although, it seems the NZC is doesn’t want to accept BCCI’s request to shorten the tour.
