The Board for Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) came out with the revised dates for the knockout stages of the 83rd edition of ongoing Ranji Trophy 2016-17. The revision was necessitated after the Round 5 clashes between Gujarat and Bengal and Tripura and Hyderabad were postponed due to severe smog in Delhi. No play was possible in the two mentioned fixtures after players complained of breathing problems and burning eyes. The Gujarat-Bengal match will now be played in Visakhapatnam while the Group C clash between Tripura and Hyderabad will be held in Kolkata from December 15. The venues for the knockout contests have not been disclosed yet.

The rescheduling also pushes the Irani Cup dates little further and the contest between the Ranji Trophy champions and Rest of India will be played from January 22.
