Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Ajay Shirke recently revealed that board’s day to day operations may cease due to a mail from Lodha Committee which they are yet to receive. According to the man in power, BCCI have not yet received any instructions on how to proceed post Supreme Court’s verdict and due to the situations, urgent issues relating to India’s upcoming series with England at home as well as the Indian Premier League (IPL) cannot be resolved. “We sent the letter detailing a lot of day-to-day stuff we need to do. If you don’t get a clarification quickly the operations can come to a standstill. Since the court has appointed the committee as the custodian, we have asked it to advise us or take the decisions [itself],” a senior BCCI officer revealed to espncricinfo.com.

“Now when you stop all contracts, then our day-to-day commercial contracts comes to a halt. For everything we have to take reference from them,” he added.

It all started due to the black chapter in Indian cricket the IPL 2013 spot-fixing scandal. The Lodha Committee was set up to provide a solution to stop more such incidents and the committee came up with various suggestions which the board is to obey now.
