Tasmanian batsman batsman Ben Dunk smashed the third highest List A score when he played a stunning innings of 229 not out against Queensland at Sydney on Saturday. Dunk fell 39 short of what could have been a world record which is currently held by Ali Brown.
Dunk 229 in just 157 deliveries hammering 16 boundaries and 13 sixes. Dunk opened the batting for Tasmania after his team was put in to bat by Queensland. It was a high-scoring match where Tasmania went on to post 398 runs and Queensland comfortably surpassed it with 16 balls to spare. Queensland ended at 402 for three. The match is also the sixth highest in terms of aggregate runs scored in a match. Together, 800 runs were scored in the match.
Among the highest scorers in a List A game are Shikhar Dhawan, Graeme Pollock and Jamie How. Dhawan had achieved it last year against South Africa A.
