Surrey wicketkeeper-batsman Ben Foakes is line for a Test call-up for Sri Lanka Tests series starting next month, as cover for the injured Jonny Bairstow, as per reports.

Bairstow who has been ruled out of the remaining ODI and the following one-off T20I and is a doubtful starter for the Test series as well. The 25-year-old Foakes is likely to be flown in if Bairstow fails the fitness Test ahead of the 1st Test at Galle starting November 6, according to The Evening Standard

Bairstow twisted his right ankle while playing football during training ahead of the fourth ODI on Sunday – which England won to claim the series with a game to spare – and was replaced by Alex Hales.
