Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who toppled West Indies with a fifer in their second innings, broke into the top-10 of the ICC Test rankings for bowlers and sits at seventh place. Bumrah skittled West Indies for a mere 100 in the chase to a target of 419 and gave India a 1-0 lead in the series.

Bumrah’s promotion isn’t the only prominent rise though. England’s Ben Stokes has jumped two places to become the second-ranked allrounder in the latest ICC Test Rankings. Stokes’ innings of 135* also saw him make an improvement of 13 places and he now sits at the 13th spot in the ICC Test rankings for batsmen.

The 28-year-old allrounder pulled off an improbable win for England in the 3rd Ashes Test in Headingley. Chasing a target of 359, the hosts were nine down for 286. Stokes combined with no.11 batsman Jack Leach to steer England to a famous victory. Leach survived for 17 balls for the solitary that he contributed to the partnership.

Jofra Archer was another big gainer in the rankings. Playing his second Test, Archer scalped six wickets in the first innings and two in the second. With eight scalps, Archer made a big jump of 40 places and now sits at the 43rd place.

Ajinkya Rahane, who ended his two-year century drought, was also one of the gainers as per the latest rankings. He broke into the list of 20 batsmen and sits at 11th place. Elsewhere, Josh Hazlewood, Trent Boult and Kemar Roach climbed to the 12th, fifth and eighth spot, respectively.

In the rankings for batsmen, Tom Latham, Hanuma Vihari and Marnus Labuschagne made improvements and sit at no. 8, 70 and 37, respectively.
