Bhuvneshwar Kumar only the second Indian to take a wicket with his first ball in ODIs

If Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s hundred was a shot in the arm for India in the first One-Day International against Pakistan at Chennai, Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave his team a huge morale boost by dismissing Mohammad Hafeez off the first delivery of the visiting team’s innings.

It was a ball that would brought memories back of Balwinder Singh Sandhu’s huge in-swinger that bowled Gordon Greenidge – not offering a shot –  in the 1983 World Cup final. Bhuvneshwar has become the 18th bowler to take a wicket off his first delivery in ODI history. Interestingly, the only other Indian bowler to achieve the feat was opener Sadagoppan Ramesh.
