‘His return likely in home series against Bangladesh’: Jay Shah talks about the return of this India Star

Mohammed Shami, who has been out of action since the ODI World Cup last year owing to an ankle injury, would most likely return to the national team for the home series against Bangladesh, which begins in September, says BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

This would also rule the speedster out of contention for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies and the USA starting in June.

“Shami’s surgery is complete, and he is now back in India. Shami will probably make his comeback for the home series versus Bangladesh. Shah stated, “KL Rahul needed an injection. He is at the NCA and has started rehab.”

After undergoing surgery for an Achilles tendon last month, the bowler, who finished with 24 wickets in the 2023 World Cup, was unable to play in the five-match Test series against England and will not play in the IPL

Shami last appeared for India in the ODI World Cup, where he was a spectacular performer.

In September, India will host Bangladesh for two tests and three Twenty20 Internationals.

KL Rahul missed the final four Tests against England due to right quadriceps discomfort. He is scheduled to play for the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League after receiving treatment in London.
