Prashant Chopra slammed his maiden triple-ton in First-Class cricket during a match between Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. It happens to achieve this milestone on his birthday.
His 300 came in 318 balls, inclusive of 40 fours and one solitary six. With this he became only the third player to score a triple-hundred on his birthday in First-Class cricket. The first player to achieve the feat was England’s Colin Cowdrey in 1962. And the second player and last player before Chopra was India’s very own Raman Lamba in 1995.
Himachal Pradesh are currently in a position of strength amassing more than 500 runs against Punjab. Apart from Chopra, Paras Dorga and Sumeet Verma contributed with the bat. Unfortunately, Dorga fell for a 127-ball 99, inclusive of 11 fours and one six, while Verma made a 120-ball 79.
Chopra is currently involved in a mammoth partnership with Ankush Bain who himself has moved past his fifty.
