Current South Africa coach Russell Domingo has lashed out at former South Africa explosive batsman Rilee Rossouw for signing the Kolpak Deal. Domingo said that he was bitterly disappointed at Rossouw’s decision. Rossouw received the backing of his team and management after he ended up scoring five ducks; four of which came in his first 6 One-Day International (ODI) games. Cricket South Africa has now terminated Rossouw’s contract with immediate effect and will not be considered for a place in the nation side in the future. Rossouw has represented South Africa in 36 ODIs and 15 T20Is since his debut in 2014.

As reported by ESPNcricinfo, Domingo was quoted as, “If that had been a player of colour, everyone would have said transformation. I haven’t spoken to him since Australia but I am very disappointed.”  He further went on to add that even after numerous tries to contact Rossouw, the 27 year-old batsman just sent an e-mail to intimate his decision about Kolpak. “Some of us have tried to get hold of him, and this is the truth, we got an email from him off his iPhone telling us he’s signed Kolpak. He spelt my name wrong for starters. He wrote one L instead of two. That’s where we are. I am bitterly disappointed in him. That’s the bottom truth. He toured Australia as the back-up Test batsman. He was the next batsman in,” concluded Domingo.

Domingo: Kallis is probably the greatest cricketer who has ever played

Rossouw was a part of the South African side that triumphed over Australia 2-1 in Tests last year. Rossouw was dropped from the current Sri Lanka series because of a foot injury. He then has signed up with Hampshire on a three-year deal. Kyle Abbott too signed up for the same County side under Kolpak rules on the very same day as Rossouw.
