Blessing Muzarabani, the Zimbabwe fast bowler who last month retired from international cricket to move to England, has signed a three-year Kolpak deal with county club Northamptonshire.

“I’ve come here to chase my dreams. I want to perform and achieve. I just can’t wait to get started,” said the 21-year-old, who played 18 ODIs, six T20Is and one Test for Zimbabwe.

Northamptonshire’s head coach David Ripley said of Muzarabani’s signing: “We’ve been talking to Blessing for some time. He’s got a lot to learn and he knows it, but we’re looking forward to helping him achieve his potential over the next few years.”

The deal will see Muzarabani play for Northants from the 2019 England domestic season. He took 4/40 for Northants’ second XI in a one-day game in May.
