In preparation for the next edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Khulna Titans franchise has selected six international players to strengthen their squad. Chris Lynn and Sarfraz Ahmed are some of the prominent names. The team has also announced Mahela Jayawardene as their official coach. Apart from the above players, Kyle Abbott, Shadab Khan, Rillee Rossouw and Seekkuge Prasanna will also be seen playing for the franchise this year. Last year, Titans were led by Mahmudullah Riyad and their former coach was Stuart Law. Jayawardene had a successful short stint as Mumbai Indians (MI) coach this year as they lifted the IPL title for the third time. Sourav Ganguly: BPL to get underway from December 2017

Stuart Law, on the other hand, moved to West Indies to replace Phil Simmons. Recently, there were speculations of Jayawardene also applying for the role of India’s head coach. However, the former Sri Lankan denied any such reports and claimed that he was looking for only short-term coaching opportunities. As for the players, Lynn had a spectacular season for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 10 edition, ruling the Orange Cap list for a while until injury ruled him out for most of the games. Meanwhile, Sarfraz lead his side to the Champions Trophy title for the first time and is also appointed as the Pakistan Test captain.

Apart from this franchise, last year’s champions Dhaka Dynamites have made host of changes to their side. Mohammad Aamer, Rovman Powell, Evin Lewis, Asela Gunaratne, as well as veterans like Kumar Sangakkara and Shahid Afridi have been included.

The BPL will commence in November with the opening match to be played between Comilla Victorians and Chittagong Vikings.
