Australia‘s former all-rounder Shane Watson has been ruled out of ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2017 due to hamstring injury. Watson, who was scheduled to play for Dhaka Dynamites, will be replaced by West Indies’ Kieron Pollard. Dynamites played their tournament opener against Sylhet Sixers, and lost by 9 wickets and will look to bounce back versus Khulna Titans.

Watson’s injury was confirmed by Sydney Thunders his Big Bash League franchise, but they also added that the Queenslander will be available for BBL 2017-18. While BPL final will be played on December 12, BBL 2017-18 will commence from December 19.

Watson picked up the injury while playing for his local club Sutherland. Nonetheless, Dynamites will be confident of being on course for the tournament after finding a suitable replacement in Pollard.
