Brendon McCullum dismissed for 56 for Chennai Super Kings against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2014

May 2, 2014

MS Dhoni and R Jadeja will be looking to end the innings on a high in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. McCullum has carried his form from United Arab Emirates (UAE) but then hit the ball direct to fielder in the deep and lost his wicket. Scoring 56 McCullum he will be hoping his contributions will be enough. Vinay Kumar after conceding 13 runs to McCullum bowled a tight over giving away only six runs. After playing out Sunil Narine and taking six singles, Andre Russel was welcomed with boundary by Dhoni straight down the ground. Dhoni is considered one of the best finishers in the game and will be looking to up the rate in the last few overs.

Kolkata’s bowling has not looked at his best and the batsmen are finding it easy to score runs. Shakib al Hasan has been the only effective bowlers taking two wickets. Their strike bowler Sunil Narine has not been that effective, being economical he has not been able to make a break through.

Suresh Raina played a handy innings and set a perfect platform for Dhoni to end the innings. He along with McCullum had a vital partnership in the innings and made sure the run rate kept on rising. Dwayne Smith got trapped in front of the wicket
