Brett Lee to perform lead role in upcoming movie ‘Unindian’

After leading Australia in the pace attack once upon a time, Brett Lee would now be leading his way to the movie career and is set to perform a lead role at the upcoming movie titled ‘Unindian’.

Lee has always been a popular celebrity in India. Apart from playing cricket, he has also featured in a no. of advertisements and music albums and videos. However, Lee believes that playing a lot of cricket has helped him get set for a big career in the movie platform.

“The last 20 years of cricket has been like an acting job. You get out there and you play this part. Anyone that knows me knows I’m totally different to what I am away from the game. You walk on that field and it’s game on,” he told Sydney Morning Herald.

Lee is set to feature in a role of a school teacher who helps out the migrants from different nation to get accustomed with the Australian language and culture. Lee then comes to meet a divorced lady (Tannishtha Chatterjee) who recently moved to Australia in search of a good career with her young family and ultimately both end up falling for each other.

However, it must be noted that Lee is not facing the camera for the first time and according to him, this feature film of his would take his on-camera career to a whole new level.

“I’ve done a few little cameos before and I’ve done heaps of commercials but to do a feature film is absolutely incredible. I’m not doing a little walk-through cameo. This is full-on,” he says. Lee was well aware of the challenges he needs to face while taking a lead role for a movie and did undergo a coaching cum training over acting before beginning his shooting which commenced at Sydney.

“In terms of my first feature film, this is not a grade game. This is playing for your country. There’s no lead-in but you’ve just got to step up.” he added.
