Inclement weather has forced the organisers to call off a four-team Twenty20 Festival from Decemeber 28-30.
Â
Dubbed the Big Swing, it was scheduled to be held at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre, but according to a release from Chief Operations Manager of the Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB), Suruj Ragoonath, persistent rain over the past few weeks had led to unfavourable conditions.
Â
Slated to take part were the Trinidad & Tobago team, who are preparing for their defence of the Caribbean T20 championship next month, Trinidad & Tobago ‘A’, Trinidad & Tobago Under-23 Academy and special invitee Barbados.
Â
Ragoonath said the TTCB was now planning to have the national side visit Barbados for a couple warm-up matches on January 4 and 5 as both teams step up preparations for the Caribbean T20 tournament to be played in Antigua & Barbuda and Barbados from January 9 to 22.
